Recovery Care at Home
Professional healthcare that comes to your house for a safe, smooth transition after a procedure or hospitalization.
Learn how Recovery Care at Home can help set you up for success after experiencing a serious health issue.
Recovery Care begins with a recommendation from your doctor or your health plan. If you feel like Recovery Care might be a good fit for you or a loved one, we encourage you to talk to your healthcare provider.
We’ll work with you and your main provider on a care plan that meets your needs right at home, whether that’s just one visit to help you settle in, or a little extra support while you recover.
We come to your door with care tailored to your experience and needs. In a typical visit, we’ll:
Review your discharge plan with you and your caregivers or family members to make sure everything’s crystal clear.
Double-check your medicine list and make sure you’re taking them correctly. (This gives you extra security against one of the most common sources of medical error.)
Answer any other questions that are on your mind.
Check that your recovery is going well and help manage any ongoing or new symptoms.
Make recommendations for next steps and help you address them seamlessly.
We employ the same kinds of experienced healthcare professionals you might see in a hospital. Care always begins with a visit from a healthcare professional to your home. Then, based on your needs, members of your team will continue to provide care in person or remotely. Support from an emergency medicine doctor is always just a call away.

Recovery Care FAQ
DispatchHealth accepts most major insurance plans in the areas we serve. For eligible patients in our insurance network, Recovery Care is usually covered at the same rate as an in-network office visit. We always recommend checking with your insurance plan to confirm costs.
The cost of a Recovery Care visit is typically the same as an in-network office visit. We’ll bill your insurance, and your insurance plan will determine the percentage of the total bill for which you are responsible. As with any healthcare service, the amount you owe may vary depending on whether you’ve met your deductible, so it’s a good idea to check with your health plan.
Your healthcare provider will help you decide if Recovery Care is the right choice for your needs. Only patients who are recommended by their doctor or health plan are eligible for this service.
We employ physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses -- the same kinds of experienced healthcare professionals you might find in a hospital. Recovery Care always begins with a visit from a healthcare professional to your home. Based on your needs, members of your care team will continue to provide care in person or remotely throughout your Recovery Care support. An emergency medicine doctor is always on call.
No. Recovery Care is designed to provide a period of extra, in-home support immediately following a health episode — a type of care that your usual doctor or specialists may not be able to provide. We coordinate with your usual care team by sharing a recap of your visit, so they’ll be up to speed on all the details of your recovery when you go for your follow-up appointment. Research shows that patients who receive dedicated recovery support at home are far less likely to end up back in the emergency room or hospital.
