How it works
Getting a same-day medical care appointment in Boston has never been easier
Insurance we accept
DispatchHealth accepts most major insurance plans. These are some we work with, but we’re also in network with many others—coverage can vary by location and plan.
Common same-day medical care questions
DispatchHealth’s qualified practitioners provide in-home same-day treatment for a wide array of non-life-threatening medical conditions. We cater to just about everyone, from babies ages three months and older to seniors, and are at work 365 days a year to meet the medical needs of busy people like you.

When you schedule your appointment, we’ll ask about your symptoms and give you a time frame for our arrival - typically the same day. Please note that the ETA may vary depending on the number of patient visits we have that day. When you call to schedule a visit, you will be given an approximate arrival time.
DispatchHealth can arrange imaging services, such as x-ray and ultrasound, for qualified patients. However, imaging services will not be delivered at the time of your initial visit. Imaging is usually completed 1-3 days after your visit and may be performed either in your home or residence (if you qualify for this service) or at a separate outpatient imaging center.
Patients qualify for mobile imaging in the home or residence if they are unable to transfer to a brick-and-mortar location due to physical and/or mental difficulties. Their provider will need to provide a reason for portability in the documentation.
A visit with DispatchHealth costs roughly the same as a walk-in Boston urgent care visit. The percentage of the total bill you’re responsible for is determined by your insurance plan. Note that if you have a high deductible plan, you will need to meet your deductible before your insurance will cover the cost.
If you don’t have insurance, or we don’t work with your insurance provider, you may still be able to receive care from DispatchHealth (depending on availability) at a flat rate of $1,000 per visit.* This cost covers everything we do to care for you at your house, including administering medication, procedures, and on-site lab tests. *Please call us to verify the current visit rate in your area and discuss any discounts which may be available.
You can pay your bill by credit, debit, health savings account (HSA), health reimbursement account (HRA) or flexible spending account (FSA).
During your visit we may prescribe medications or recommend that you seek imaging or additional care from other providers. These follow-ups are not included in your DispatchHealth visit and will result in separate bills.
