How to complete registration to view on-demand

Peter “Rocky” Samuel, MD, MBA

DispatchHealth’s National Medical Director, Dr. Peter “Rocky” Samuel, is an expert in the fundamentals of the value-based care. He is instrumental in leading the efforts to improve hospital readmission rates and reduce healthcare costs by offering high-acuity healthcare in the home.
Dr. Samuel received an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of California, Davis, and his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Harvard is also where he completed his medical degree, then moved on to an emergency medicine residency at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. Northwestern is where Dr. Samuel started his pursuit of improving outcomes in emergency departments by focusing on characteristics of 30-day readmissions and analyzing consultation times’ effect on emergency length of stay and cost. In addition, informing his passion for higher quality, lower cost medical care, Dr. Samuel engaged in several medical research projects at premier institutions such as Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Cambridge Health Alliance, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Samuel is a subject matter expert in care coordination as well as the importance of the discharge process in emergency departments and how they can improve patient outcomes. Furthermore, he is passionate about improving patient safety and satisfaction.
